Health and Safety Adviser
As an employer you have a responsibility under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 for health and safety in your workplace. The regulations state that;
‘Every employer shall appoint one or more competent persons to assist him in undertaking the measures he needs to take to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed on him by or under the relevant statutory provisions’ (Regulation 7.(1) of MHSAW Regulations 1999)
It is therefore imperative that you understand and undertake your duties. If you do not have the resources or expertise within your business, it may be necessary to appoint a health and safety adviser to help you meet and comply with your health and safety duties. At Austin Fletcher we have the necessary skills, knowledge and experience to help you manage health and safety and assist you in discharging your duties effectively.
The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 introduced the concept of Risk Assessment into the UK workplace, and this concept has been the foundation of health and safety in the UK since its introduction.
As part of our service we are able to create and/or update health and safety policies and procedures, help you draft appropriate risk assessments for your business, along with any COSHH assessments needed, and undertake health and safety audits periodically to establish your compliance with your safety systems, controls and procedures. Preparing action plans where needed we can assist in re-establishing your compliance where necessary.
We are also able to advise you on fire safety, occupational health, noise, safe use of machinery and control of hazardous substances through the establishment of COSHH assessments for your business.
